Mapmode Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Mapmode app, published by Abstractware LLC (“we”), a company registered in the Sharjah Media City (Shams) free zone, United Arab Emirates. They complete Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. By using Mapmode you accept both.
1. Drive safely
Always watch the road and obey traffic laws, road signs and the instructions of the authorities. Don't interact with your phone while driving. Mapmode is an entertainment navigation app: maps, routes, speed information and points of interest may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Use your own judgment; if a route seems unsafe, illegal or impossible, don't follow it.
2. Mapmode+
Using Mapmode requires Mapmode+, available as:
- Annual subscription, which may include an introductory price for the first year for eligible new subscribers;
- Monthly subscription;
- Lifetime purchase, a one-time payment with no renewal.
Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. After an introductory year, the annual subscription renews at the regular annual price shown in the app. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
“Lifetime” means for as long as we offer and support Mapmode on your Apple Account. Features may evolve over time.
3. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use Mapmode on Apple devices you own or control, for non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or misuse the app or its services, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
4. Map data and third-party services
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Tiles are served by OpenFreeMap; place search uses Apple MapKit; routes are computed with OSRM. These services may change or be unavailable at times, and we can't guarantee them.
5. Not affiliated
Mapmode's map styles are original artwork inspired by video game aesthetics. Mapmode is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Mojang, Microsoft or any other game publisher. All trademarks belong to their owners.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Mapmode running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may update the app, add or remove features, and update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Mapmode is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect damages, or for damages caused by relying on map or route information while driving. We remain liable where the law does not allow this to be excluded, including for gross negligence and for death or personal injury caused by our fault.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Sharjah, and disputes go to the courts of Sharjah. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before your local courts. EU consumers can also use the EU online dispute resolution platform.
